Tender Veal Stew in Apple Ambiance

Ingredients:

  • 500 g veal meat
  • 2 red onions
  • 2 red apples
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 2 baby garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of lard
  • 2 dl of tomato juice
  • 2 dl of water
  • 1 dl of red wine
  • 1 teaspoon of black cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of sumac
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • basil leaves

First steps for Tender Veal Stew in Apple Ambiance:

Clean and cut in dices the veal meat. Then grease a frying pan with 2 spoons of lard over medium heat and place the meat in it. Cook the meat and stir from time to time until the water left by the meat evaporates, up to 10 minutes.

Meanwhile chop 2 red onions, 2 baby garlics and 1 red bell pepper.

Next steps for Tender Veal Stew in Apple Ambiance:

When the liquid in the pan has evaporated from the cooking meat, add the chopped onions, garlic, and pepper. Cook and stir until they soften. Approximately 5 minutes.

Then, pour 2 dl of tomato juice followed by 2 dl of water into the pan, cover it with a lid, and let the meat cook until tender. Approximately 20 minutes.

Third step for Tender Veal Stew in Apple Ambiance:

If the liquid evaporates before the veal is tender, add a little more water as needed and continue cooking until the desired tenderness is achieved.

Meanwhile, peel and blend 2 red apples. Add the blended apples to your tender veal meat in the pan.

Stir and cook without the lid until most of the liquid evaporates, approximately 5 minutes.

Last steps for Tender Veal Stew in Apple Ambiance:

Then add all of the spices: 1 teaspoon of black cumin, 1 teaspoon of sumac, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, and chopped basil leaves (optional).

Pour 1 dl of red wine over them. Stir well and bring it to a boil. Then lower the heat, replace the lid, and let the stew simmer for 5 minutes.
