Instructions for preparing Silky Steamed Salmon:
First step:
Clean and slice the salmon, cut and blend 1/2 of a pineapple, and then grate a small piece of ginger.
The addition of pineapple to this dish not only enhances its flavour but also brings a host of health benefits to the table. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, pineapple is known for its digestive aid properties and can help improve digestion. It contains bromelain, an enzyme that breaks down proteins, aiding in digestion and reducing bloating. Moreover, pineapple is a good source of vitamin C, which supports immune function and overall health. To learn more about the health benefits of pineapple, you can visit WebMD’s slideshow.
Next step:
Grease a frying pan with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, then add the grated ginger. Stir and brown it for 1 minute.
Pour in the pineapple juice and 1 dl of water, then stir to combine.
Sprinkle the spices (salt and rosemary) over the mixture.
Place the salmon fillets in the pan. Cover with a lid and let it steam over medium heat for up to 15 minutes.
Last step:
Turn off the heat, uncover the pan, and allow the steamed salmon to cool slightly, up to 10 minutes. Then, carefully remove the fillets from the juice.
Serve the steamed salmon with lemon slices and Cheesy Veggie Egg Muffins for a complete heavy protein meal, or any other side dish of your choice. I made this menu for my 1 year old baby girl and she loved it.
